Dua for forgiveness of sins – Dua upon committing a sin

Dua when a sin is committed:

Recite this Dua when a sin is committed (English and Arabic) Trnalsation:

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ

Transliteration: Astaghfirullaha, Astaghfirullaha, Astaghfirullaha

Translation: I seek Allah’s forgiveness, I seek Allah’s forgiveness, I seek Allah’s forgiveness.

The messenger of Allah (May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said:‘Any servant who commits a sin and as a result, performs ablution, prays two units of prayer [i.e., two rak1ats] and then seeks Allah’s forgiveness, Allah would forgive him.’ (Reference: Abu Dawud)
