Tashahhud Dua For Salah – Dua when sitting in Prayer

Dua while sitting during the Tashahhud:

What do you say during tashahhud? Recite this Tashahhud dua (also called attahiyat) when sitting in Prayer (English & Arabic):

التَّحِيّـاتُ للهِ وَالصَّلَـواتُ والطَّيِّـبات ، السَّلامُ عَلَيـكَ أَيُّهـا النَّبِـيُّ وَرَحْمَـةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكـاتُه ، السَّلامُ عَلَيْـنا وَعَلـى عِبـادِ كَ الصَّـالِحـين . أَشْـهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلـهَ إِلاّ الله ، وَأَشْـهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمّـداً عَبْـدُهُ وَرَسـولُه

English Translation: Salutations are for Allah, All acts of worship and good deeds are for Him. Peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you O Prophet. Peace be upon us and upon all of Allah’s righteous slaves. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshiped except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Note: Tashahhud refers to that one says in the sitting position of the prayer. At-tahiyyat means all words which indicate the glorification of Allah. His eternal existence, His perfection and His sovereignty.
